Resilience is the ability to recover from or adjust to misfortune or change, and according to the American Psychological Society, it’s “not a trait that people either have or do not have. It involves behaviors, thoughts and actions that can be learned and developed in anyone.”
My own experiences have certainly deepened my understanding of the strategies we all need when adversity strikes. Losing a son to brain cancer, barely surviving a near-fatal car accident. However, drawing from these experiences, you not only learn to endure, but to bounce forward to a new place with love, grace and joy. You develop courage and resilience, and inner wisdom on how to deal with adversity - the big things and the small.
I now help others to navigate their way through life’s traumas and challenges. To develop resilience in life and our rapidly changing world.
I work from a place of understanding, compassion and empathy, drawing on helpful tools and techniques that foster greater resilience. The result is a building of strength we all need when faced with life’s ups and downs.
